Following more than a decade of near blindness, Yasushi Sugino returned to photography with this intensely personal portrait of Sado Island. Sugino seems to follow light, reflections and fleeting details, transforming ordinary landscapes and encounters into something strange and dreamlike. The photographs move between rich, saturated colour and stark black-and-white, giving the book a deeply atmospheric, almost otherworldly quality. Oversized hardcover with slipcase, self-published in the 1990s, 156 pages.
Condition: Very good. Hardcover with slipcase. Slipcase has tear in one corner, seen in photo. Signed.
